Each year, Sunspots Studios proudly hosts

The Virginia Hot Glass Festival.

These two days are filled with exhibitions and demonstrations by hot glass and flame work artists from around the region.


About the Festival – New Dates for 2017: Memorial Day Weekend!

This year’s Festival will be held Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 27, & Sunday, May 28!  We invite dozens of hot glass artists who demonstrate glassblowing and flame working techniques throughout the weekend. We also open our expansive 2nd floor as a vendor area where you can see works from all our visiting artists and enjoy wine tasting by Barren Ridge Vineyards. DON’T MISS a performance from “Pumpkin Bread Band” on the Sunspots Pavilion, Saturday, May 27, 7pm-9pm.

Special Activities during the Festival include

 Flaming Ray Gun

Fire-Breathing Dragon – Josh Ries from Art of Fire makes a fire-breathing dragon.


Flaming Ray Gun – Nate Avery of Suffolk builds a ray gun that shoots flames


Wine Tasting – Barren Ridge Vineyards offer tastings & sell wine by the glass.


Stone Carving – VA Stone Carvers Guild demonstrate their skill across the street.



Admission is FREE! We are handicapped accessible and have ample parking around our studio.
